When Brian DeVries and Scott Wierda were brainstorming names for their new venture, they spied the jade pig paperweight Brian’s daughter had brought back from a recent trip to China.
It was 1995, the Year of the Pig. A pig that just happened to symbolize the partners’ shared philosophy about approaching business and embracing community (which includes integrity, good luck and prosperity). And so Jade Pig Ventures was born.
Today, Jade Pig is the driving force behind pivotal community-focused projects like Gaslight Village and Breton Village, among others. Our company has in excess of 1,100,000 square feet of retail and office space throughout West Michigan, and we’ve built relationships with signature tenants from big-box retailers to specialized boutiques.
Jade Pig Ventures owns and manages all of our projects in-house to ensure that all aspects of operations are maintained to the highest standards of quality. The very standards that Brian and Scott set forth at the beginning.
We believe in strong, supportive relationships with our tenants. We believe in entrepreneurs. We believe in community. We believe in high expectations. We believe in actively seeking opportunities to have a positive impact on West Michigan. We believe, most of all, in good karma. |
